Places 2, 4 and 6 on Retirement Fund Board are now up for nominations, elections

Nominations and elections for Places 2, 4 and 6 on the Fund Board began in May with the nominations process. Place 2 represents active Employee Group B, Civil Service fire personnel; Place 4 represents active Employee Group D (Aviation, Code Compliance, Economic Development, IT Solutions, Library, Neighborhood Services, Park & Recreation, Public Events, Transportation & Public Works and non-Civil Services fire personnel); and Place 6 represents Retiree Group D, retired Civil Service police.

For Places 2 and 4, nominees must be active, vested members of the Fund and submit a petition by Friday, June 29, 2018, signed by at least 75 members employed in departments within that Place/Group. Petitions are available below or by calling 817-632-8900.

For the retiree election (Place 6), Notice of Election and Nomination Forms were mailed in May and must be returned to the Retirement Fund no later than Friday, June 29, 2018. Nominees from retiree Place 6 must have at least 25 Letters of Nomination to be eligible to run. Letter of Nomination Forms can be found below or by calling 817-632-8900.

If there is only one nominee for any Place, there will be no election for that Place. The nominee will be officially placed on the Board of Trustees, effective Sept. 1, 2018. If there is more than one nominee for a Place, an election will take place. That election will be implemented through a third-party election service, Election-America, and will take place from July 20 through Aug. 15, 2018. Election ballots will be sent to every eligible voter within that Place. The election will be fully automated and eligible members will be able to vote by mail, e-mail or telephone. Full voting instructions, including biographies of each candidate, will be included on the ballot. Eligible voters who have e-mail addresses on file will also receive e-mail notices of the election, which will include links to candidate bios and the e-mail voting site.
