Collection and use of information

Server Log/Log Analysis Tools

FWERF utilizes server logs and log analysis tools to create summary statistics about the use of the Web site. The summary statistics are used for purposes such as assessing what information is of most interest to users, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. The following information is collected for this analysis.

1. Name, domain and numerical Internet address of the host computer (usually your ISP). This tells FWERF which ISPs people use to connect to our sites.

2. Date and time you accessed the Web site. This helps FWERF make sure we have the resources to help all the people who use the site at peak times.

3. Internet address of the Web page you came from. This tells FWERF how people find the site.

4. Pages you visited. This tells FWERF what is popular/helpful/interesting.

5. Browser you use. This allows FWERF to keep our site accessible to as many people as possible.

For site management functions, aggregated information is collected for analysis and statistical purposes. FWERF does not report or use this information in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information and does not release this information to any outside parties unless required to do so under applicable law.

E-mail

Personally identifiable information contained in a question or comment sent to FWERF in an e-mail message or in an online form submitted to FWERF will be used by FWERF to respond to the request and to analyze trends. FWERF may redirect the message to another FWERF department or person who is in a better position to answer the question. We treat e-mail the same way we treat letters sent to FWERF.

E-mail Subscription List

This website provides users the opportunity to subscribe to and unsubscribe from informational mailing lists. FWERF will request information about our visitors when they utilize our mailing list form to determine which email addresses are added to or removed from our lists. Site users are free to unsubscribe at will using this form should they opt not to receive future communications from FWERF.

All information collected from FWERF website, including the summary server log information, e-mails sent to the Web site and information collected from Web-based forms, is subject to the provisions of the Texas Public Information Act. Online Surveys

From time to time, online surveys may be conducted on the FWERF website. It is FWERF’s policy that information gathered in these online surveys are used only for the research purposes indicated in the survey. Unless otherwise noted on the specified survey or as required by the Texas Public Information Act, answers are confidential and individual responses will not be shared with other parties. Aggregate data from surveys may be shared with external third parties.
