Kevin Foster was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Fort Worth Employees' Retirement Fund in 2016. He represents retired Civil Service police officers.

Kevin retired from the Fort Worth Police Department as a Sergeant in 2010, after serving 29 years. During his tenure, he was named FWPD Supervisor of the Year in 2005 and CLEAT (Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas) Region 1A Officer of the Year in 2001 and 2008. He is a retired member of the Fort Worth Police Officers Association Board of Directors and former editor of the Signal 50 magazine.

Kevin is a founding Board member of the Fort Worth Police Historical Association and served as Chairman of the Fort Worth Police and Firefighters Memorial from 2009 to 2016, Since 2001, he has been Chairman Emeritus and Research Director for the memorial. Over the years, he had the major role in researching and documenting the history of the FWPD and is the author two books: Written in Blood – The History of Fort Worth’s Fallen Officers, Volume 1 and 2. While he was researching fallen police for the memorial, he was asked to research firefighters who died in the line of duty as well.

Two years ago, Kevin became president of the Retired Police Officers Association of Fort Worth, leading monthly meetings and educating retired officers about city benefits and retirement. He and his wife, Melissa, have a son and daughter.

For the Fund, Kevin serves on the Disability and Legislative committees.
