Derrick Dagnan named new CIO
Derrick C. Dagnan has been selected as the Fund’s Chief Investment Officer, effective October 1.
Dagnan will provide leadership, vision, and oversight for the management and strategic growth of the Fund’s $2.25 billion in assets, working closely with the Fund’s Executive Director, Benita Harper, and with the Board and its Investment Committee as well as Fund staff. “We’re delighted Derrick will be joining the Fund as CIO,” Harper said. “He brings an impressive amount of expertise and a proven track record of successes to this new role and will be leading a skilled team with significant experience in investments, finance, and accounting.”

Dagnan currently serves as Deputy Chief Investment Officer of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, where he oversees a team managing a large state pension plan and several small endowment and defined contribution plans. Dagnan received his BS from Purdue University and his MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He is a CFA Charterholder.
