Retirement Planning Seminar set for May 17

Are you close to retiring? Or even just “getting” close? If so, you won’t want
to miss our upcoming seminar, “Getting Ready for Retirement,” 8:30-12:30, Wednesday, May 17.
The four-hour seminar will consist of three sessions:
Session 1: Learn about Medicare, Medicaid, and how Social Security applies
to City employees. This program will be presented by Tom Clark, a longtime administrator for the Social Security Administration who is now retired.
Session 2: Debby Smith, a Human Resources analyst for the City, will review insurance options and other benefits the City offers to retired employees.
Session 3: Fund staff will explain how pensions are calculated and discuss how you can delay retirement through the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP).
The seminar will be held at the Fund office, 3801 Hulen St., Suite 101. The event is free, but seating is limited, and advance registration is required. To register or get more information, please call 817-632-8900.
