1099-R forms mailed

UPDATE - Feb. 1, 2024: If you have not received your Northern Trust 1099-R form by February 8, 2024, please reach out to our office at 817-632-8900. If any forms need to be reissued, we will begin reprinting on February 12, 2024.

All other 1099-R forms have been mailed. If you are registered on our Member Portal, the 1099-R document from the Retirement Fund is available there. Thank you and our apologies for any inconvenience.

Most retirees should have received their 1099-R forms by now. The form reports to the IRS how much money you have received in benefit payments and the amount of federal income tax withheld from your benefit payments during the year. City of Fort Worth retirees and others who have received distributions from the Fund are required to include with their income tax return.


Please note that this year, retirees and beneficiaries who received monthly benefit payments for the entire calendar year are receiving two 1099-R forms.

The first form will come from Northern Trust and will report only benefit payments and federal income tax withholdings for the month of January 2023.
The second form will have the Fund’s logo on it, and will report benefit payments and federal income tax withholdings for the remainder of 2023.

In addition, if you took an Actuarial Equivalent Lump Sum when you retired, or if you elected to receive a DROP distribution upon or after retirement, you may receive a third 1099-R.

All members should receive their 1099-R tax forms by the end of this month (January 31). If you do not receive your forms by then, please call us at 817-632-8900.
